House Update

So, I really haven't done much to my house since I moved in. My dad installed a ceiling fan and I have changed some light bulbs but that is about it. I have decided that I need to get moving so I have created a list of things that need to be done around the homestead. Most of it is little stiff like change the hardware on my cabinets or change alight fixture. I am having the most trouble with picking paint colors. I have learned that is just not my forte and I am stumped. Keep in mind, my kitchen cabinets are a light wood, it has minimal natural light so the color needs to remain light and my accent color is red. Any color recommendations for my kitchen are being accepted...I am stumped.

So as requested I am posting some updated pics of my living room. I have done some rearranging and I finally put my Christmas decorations away this weekend. Feel free to come visit!!

Love your place! Are you thinking of one wall color throughout the whole place? What about an olive green in the kitchen area, and a pale yellow (maybe mustardy?) in the living room? Or maybe a mocha living room? Or really contrast the red furniture with a pale blue? One idea is to look at fun pillows that incorporate the red and other colors you like, and see if you get any inspiration from that. Good luck, have fun!!

Thanks Sue! The living room is staying for now especially since I have no desire to paint in that very tall room. I am hoping some curtains will make it less stark. I like the idea of an olive green...I need to see what it look like next to my cabinets. They are SO light. I am off to Bed, Bath and Beyond to check out pillos this weekend...great idea!
