Tour of Eastern Ohio Part I

After work on Thursday, Michael and I loaded up the car and headed north to Ohio for our weekend of friends, family and fun.  We arrived at my sister's house at 1:30 am and promptly went to bed (after having some Mike's Hard Lemonade which was left on ice at our bedside.)

Friday morning we got up and went to visit Warther's Museum (yes, there is a museum in Dover, OH).  Mooney Warther was touted as the world's Master Carver.  With only a 2nd grade education the man was able to carve to scale amazing steam engines with actual working parts. He could also take a small piece of wood, put 11 small cuts in it with the result being a working pair of pliers.  It is actually a really neat place and I knew Michael would appreciate the hard work and artistry that went into his carvings.

We adventured off to a local winery where we dined on sandwiches and managed to take some downright goofy photos at the local Amish cheese house.

Friday night we attended local high school's football game.  My nephew is only a freshman so isn't playing varsity yet but we did get to see my niece in the marching band as well as my uncle who was a referee at the game.  I forgot how much fun high school football games were...we had a blast!
