Slacker...again!

So I realize that I have been a huge slacker over the past month since my last post but I feel like I have some good excuses:
  • work has been crazy

  • I hit my year anniversary of being in NC on May 7th

  • I met a cute buy who has been occupying my time

  • I've been out of town on the weekends

Yeah, that's the best I could come up with but I promise to be better about posting. So, I was reflecting about the last year of my life and realize its been quite a whirlwind. I bought a house, I transitioned from a big city to a small city, I made new friends, I have consistently worked out and I met Michael. All good things and I have great weather...what more could a girl ask for?

I also attended my first professional hockey game. I think I may have attended a Blackhawks game in 1997 when I was a HP at Girls Hope but rather than watch the game I was more than likely trying to keep track of 8 teenage girls.

Michael and I have been following the Canes and he decided we needed to see a game live. We attended Tuesday's "DO or DIE" showdown with the Penguins. The Canes either had to win or they were out so regardless, we knew it would be a good game. Michael got Club seats so we had a waitress and free food. We even had a little TV in front of our two seats so we could catch replays and stuff. It was pretty cool. The Canes lost but being in the arena for a game was awesome! Like most sports, it was so much better being at the arena than watching it on TV. I got really into the game and Michael says I even yelled "Kick his ass" at one point when there was the rumblings of a ice fight.

I think what I really liked about the game was the end. To watch grown men, who ARE allowed to fight during the game, give each other high fives afterwards and congratulate each other on a game well played, was pretty cool considering they no longer do that in other professional sports. Here are some picks from the game...I am so going to be a guest Zamboni driver next year!!
