Finally!

So, as you know I have been Crossfitting for 6 weeks now. I have just re-enrolled for another 6 weeks of boot camp...am I crazy?? Well, I certainly feel stronger but my running has been difficult. Due to scheduling and other things I haven't been able to run three times a week like I am supposed to and honestly after three boot camp sessions in a week, I am usually exhausted. According to my running schedule, I should be running three miles by now and I have only made it to about 2 and 1/4 miles. I have been feeling pretty frustrated about the whole thing but tonight after work....I MADE IT TO 3 MILES!!!! I was slow but I made it and I now feel SO much better about my run in April.

Only three more miles to go!!!

Bye Bye February!

Deb, Stacy, my dad and I at Willie Nelson Concert

So, after a wonderful weekend of mountain air, Willie Nelson and attempting to flat foot I returned home to no heat. I called my home warranty company (purchased by the previous owner) who said they could not get someone there until Monday morning. Well, normally this wouldn't be an issue but since the temperature has been dropping to the 20's in the evening, it was a bit chilly. Luckily, my friend Melinda let me occupy her warm and toasty guest room for the night and I was able to curl up on her couch to watch the Oscar's.

At least I didn't miss the Oscars!! They are my version of the Superbowl and I LOVED them this year. I though Hugh Jackman was entertaining and funny and I really enjoyed how they had past honorees giving the awards out. Very well done Academy people!

I returned home last night to heat although I still think something is a little off but I guess I shouldn't complain since it was finally warm in my house. As a result of the heat issues and just general life angst (I have been so crabby), I have decided March is going to be my month and I would like February to be over now. I am done with cold weather, mean heating and cooling employees and the damn guy at Rooms To Go who can't figure out how to give me a credit for the rug I returned!

Grrr...

On a lighter note, I am planning a baby shower for my friend Stacy and as a favor idea, I bought a bunch of her favorite candy from when we were little. Everyone will leave the shower with some of her favorite treats: Bulls-eyes, Necco Wafers, and smarties. I found them at the Mast General Store in Boone...that place is amazing!

A first...

So, the funniest thing happened today around 9:00am. My cell phone was ringing and I saw that the caller was Jessica. It is normal for Jessica and I to talk during the day, but she usually calls when she knows I may have some downtime during clinic like lunchtime or late in the afternoon. Since I saw it was her, I answered thinking maybe something was wrong or she had a quick question to ask. Little did I know, this is how the conversation would go...

Christie: Hey, what's up?

Addison: Babble, babble, babble...silence. Babble, babble.

Christie: Hello Addie! (expecting that Jess was holding the phone for her to say hello)

Addison:Babble, babble, babble, babble.

Christie: Addie, does Mommy know you are on the phone?

Addison: Babble, babble, babble, babble.

Christie: Addison, you may want to give Mommy her phone.

Addison: Giggle, giggle, babble, babble.

(In the back ground I hear, "Addison, did you call someone?)

Addison: Giggle, babble, giggle, babble

Jessica: (laughing) I saw her pushing the #4 (my speed dial number) and didn't realize she actually called someone.

It was hilarious. She was actually trying to have a conversation with me. I hope this was the first in many years of phone calls to her Aunt Christie. I can't wait for the "My fake ID was confiscated and I'm in jail, come bail me out" call in 16 years.

Update

Not much to report these days. I am still cross fitting three days a week and I run three other days and I feel like I am in a rut. I feel like all I do is work, workout, eat and sleep.

This weekend my parents came in for my dad's birthday. I felt bad that he cooked for me on his birthday but he's more of a "stay-in" kind of guy and he likes to try new things out on my mom and I. I came home from Cross fit to a three course meal with wine. We had carrot soup, salad and fish served with sauteed spinach. So yummy! On Saturday, I treated my parents and took them to see Vicki Lawrence at the Carolina Theatre in Durham. She did some background stuff and then did a costume change to become Mama. It was surprisingly funny and I was crying tears of laughter by the end.

Throughout the weekend, dad did some handy things around my house...as usual. Each time he visits he adds more to our "to-do" list.

The best part of my weekend is that I think I have decided on a color for my kitchen. I am going with a sage green. The bad thing about this decision is that I will be painting my cabinets white to brighten up my kitchen. This is NOT a project I am looking forward to but I think it will do wonders to my kitchen. I probably will not start until the weather becomes more consistent so I can spray paint my cabinets outside.

Anyone want to come visit? Feel free to bring your paintbrush:)
